Centre of Happiness hosts let’s network – make it happen

PARKTOWN NORTH - Women from different fields of business shared their expertise and supported each other at a Women’s Day brunch with the theme ‘let’s network – make it happen’ at the Centre of Happiness in Parktown North.

“Celebrating women on this day and creating a community of like-minded individuals referring each other’s businesses, services and products to others was the aim. South African women who are making it happen for themselves need to be honoured,” said Cherné Cullen, director of the centre.

The day was filled with entertainment by Jade Sardinha and massages for all the women in attendance. Exhibitions were set up by the women to showcase what they had to offer. There were cookies and cake, shoes and scarfs, crafts and toys as well as profit and non-profit organisations showcasing their products. In the name of keeping it trendy, there was also a fashion show by Safron Rose.

Martina Laurie CEO of Hands on Treatment, and Kamini Pather Masterchef South Africa 2013 winner, both gave a motivational talk.

“Today is a great opportunity for women to network and to meet like-minded people who share the same passion and skills. It is really about teaching women to fish rather than giving them fish, so as a result they will be able to be independent always,” explained Laurie.

Precious Molefe, a representative from Four Paws expressed her delight at the brunch. “I am glad to be at this initiative. Women need to stand together to build each other up and empower each other so that we all can grow together as women,” she said.
