“These figures will need to be verified, and there could be a slight change in terms of spoiled, cancelled and missing votes, but this will not vary too much.”
The newly-elected Mia Snyman, who will be replacing former councillor Marcelle Bloom-Ravid, stated that she was elated by the win and that she is ready to face the challenge that lay ahead of her.
“First and foremost, I need to thank my team for all their support during the election process,” said Snyman.
“One cannot win a bylaw election by oneself, I couldn’t have done it without them.”
She further stated that she feels honoured to become a councillor for such a prestigious ward, referring to previous councillors who have overseen it such as Helen Suzman and Tony Leon.
“The top priority within Ward 73, naturally, will be improved service delivery for its residents,” Snyman said in conclusion.
“It’s going to be a mammoth task, but I am looking forward to it.”
