ORANGE GROVE –The pile of rubble on the pavement of 44 Second Street in Orange Grove continues to be a nightmare for people living in the are while criminals use it to their advantage.

Residents say the rubble makes it possible for criminals to gain entry into properties of the block and there have been several break-ins reported by neighbours recently.

Venessa Probert, whose house is situated next to the rubble, urged the people responsible for the mess to do the right thing and have it removed.

“The people responsible for the rubble must take action and make sure it is cleared. They must also consider the impact this is having on all the people living on the block, their privacy and safety,” she said.

Ward 73 councillor, Mia Snyman, said she had reported the issue to the City of Johannesburg and they promised to remove it.
