Tributes pour in for Rev Young
PARKVIEW – Community members mourn the death of Reverend Chunky Young.
Tributes continue to pour in for the late priest of St Columba’s Presbyterian Church in Parkview.
Reverend Chunky Young passed away over the weekend.
According to Facebook posts, he suffered a stroke while delivering a wedding sermon.
He has been described as a pillar of strength in the Parkview community for many years.
It is also said that he supported those in need, guided those in times of pain, heartache and troubled times as well as blessing countless weddings, baptisms, confirmations and touching families’ lives in all ways possible.
Young was also known as a priest who supported same-sex marriages, and some people described him as a priest who had time for all, even non-believers.
His funeral will be held on 8 April at 2pm, St Columba’s, 45 Lurgan Road Parkview.
