Following a recent meeting between the Sandringham Community Policing Forum, Sandringham police officers, eBlockwatch members and local community members it was revealed that crime is a problem in the area and local residents need to get involved to combat this.
The meeting highlighted a number of issues in the area ranging from potholes, speeding and housebreaking.
Residents were urged to attend monthly public meetings and to provide the police with information about suspicious behaviour in the area.
The general idea of the meeting was to inform the public on measures they can take to reduce crime in their areas and to encourage them to get involved in community meetings and initiatives.
Warrant Officer Mamabolo Mohlaume of Sandringham Police Station said as the police will make sure that the neighbourhood is safe and there will be a police van patrolling the area.
