Brother appears in court following murder incident

KEW – Suspect appears in court after fatally stabbing his brother.

A man accused of murdering his brother in Kew has appeared in the Alexandra Magistrates’ Court.

The incident allegedly took place on 15 July between 7pm and 8pm after a Bramley police officer responded to a complaint in the area.

Warrant Officer Moses Maphakela, spokesperson for the Bramley Police Station, explained that upon his arrival, the officer was met with a gruesome scene.

“When the officer on duty arrived at the residence, three people were allegedly found inside the shack and this included the deceased, who was found lying in a pool of blood,” he said.

“An ambulance was then called to the scene and upon arrival, the victim was declared dead as a result of multiple stab wounds to the chest.”

It was unclear what led to the victim’s murder but Maphakela confirmed that the police arrested the deceased’s brother on the scene. He was detained at the Bramley Police Station and charged with murder.

“The accused appeared in court on 18 July where the case was postponed and he is expected to make another appearance during the month of August for a bail application hearing.”

The case continues.
