Beauty queen raises funds to fight cancer

CRAIGHALL – Mrs SA finalist dazzles guests at a charity event aimed to raise funds for cancer.

Mrs South Africa 2016 finalist and business owner, Rebekah Krossynski, hosted a motivational evening to raise much-needed funds for Cuppa for Cansa (The Cancer Association of South Africa) in Craighall.

The 34-year-old, together with her production company VHP Productions and Events, treated guests to Justin Cohen and Natalie van der Heeder, South Africa’s top motivational speakers, and Sammy Dollar Sehoana, inspirational speaker and author of Dialogues Between Dream-Makers, who all touched on releasing inner potential.

“I worked with my own company to put this evening on,” said Krossynski.

“It turned out even better than I hoped for. We are raising funds through raffles and auction prizes and thanks [go out] to so many sponsors [who jumped] on board.”

The beauty queen, who is a former breakfast radio show host on 93.8FM, said being a Mrs South Africa finalist means the world to her.

Krossynski said it had been an inspiring journey and the opportunity has allowed her to meet great people.

“It’s not a pageant, but a women’s empowerment programme. It has helped me grow my business, helped me to help the disadvantaged and allows me to have a voice,” said Krossynski.

“People listen more, which makes getting help where help is needed that much easier.”

Encouraging other moms, Krossynski said no person was too old to live their dreams and the life they deserve. “Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep being the better version of yourself,” said the beauty queen.

“I’m a firm believer of never giving up and always following your dreams.”

Krossynski managed to raise R20 000 on the night and said it exceeded her target. “Everybody knows somebody that has suffered, supporting Cansa comes very easy to me.”
