Police warn of car thefts in Riverpark

SANDRINGHAM – Police need help catching car thieves in Riverpark.

Sandringham police are appealing to community members to help them apprehend one or more suspects linked to various car thefts in Riverpark.

This follows a spate of thefts in the area in the past month which, according to Captain Mohlaumi Mamabolo, spokesperson for Sandringham Police Station, has seen one car stolen each week.

“We have a serious problem of theft of motor vehicle incidents in the area and we suspect that a syndicate may be involved,” he said.

Mamabolo appealed to the community to help the police capture the suspects and to report any suspicious activity they may come across to the police. This can be done by contacting the police’s toll-free number or the police station itself, to report this information.

“We also urge residents to remain vigilant and ensure their vehicles are safely parked to avoid becoming a victim,” he concluded.

Details: Sandringham Police Station 011 719 4822; toll-free 10111.
