Entrepreneur’s Day at the Living Link

PARKHURST – The Living Link Entrepreneur's Day will take place on 22 May.

Show you care and support the young adults at the Living Link on 22 May. The day will start at 9am and end at 11am, and in that time the students will be able to put their entrepreneurial skills to the test. Living Link is located on the corner of 1st and 17th Street in Parkhurst.

The Living Link training centre is a non-profit organisation based in Parkhurst, which caters for the intellectually disabled community regardless of race, gender and religious background. It aims to encourage, enhance and support the development of intellectually disabled adults, helping them attain a good quality of life by giving them the opportunity to get into the working world.

Living Link supports the independence of their students and therefore offers housing for them to rent only once they have achieved independence, security at work and financial stability. They facilitate the move of the young adults from family living to independent living in the Link community.

This is a fun, as well as a learning event for the students at Living Link, enabling them to experience the realities of entrepreneurship and allowing them to have pride and confidence in selling their homemade goods to friends, family and the community.

Bring some cash to purchase the items which the students have made and invite family, friends and colleagues.

Some of the goods that will be on sale are:

  • Bracelets
  • Muffins
  • Cold drinks and sweets
  • Hamburgers
  • Hot dogs
  • Popcorn
  • Photo booth
  • Car wash
  • Mini coffee shop.
