Everybody loves everybody
JOBURG - South African designer Jessica Mole has created the brand Jessica Anne.
South African designer Jessica Mole has created the brand Jessica Anne, a women’s clothing brand inspired by creating clothes for women, which will make them feel beautiful when worn – and also help others.
The brand came about years ago in a children’s drawing journal, owned by Mole, who dreamed of being a fashion designer. She was a teacher for four years and loved seeing the value of positively influencing others through her job and personal experiences and this is how fashion and philanthropy came together in a women’s clothing brand.
Call it ‘clothing with a conscience’, Mole has and aims to continue her donations to the community initiative, Everybody Loves Everybody (ELE). The initiative was started as a fundraiser to help an orphanage, St Jane’s de Chantal Home, back on its feet. However, with mounting success the initiative has become a community project run founded by the youth. ELE has a constant flow of new energy and exciting prospects.
“ELE aims to educate orphans as well as uplift communities, which is really close to my heart. I worked as a teacher for a few years before starting Jessica Anne, [so] education and children are passions of mine, so ELE found its way onto my path easily.
“It started with the idea to have one big fundraiser to help an orphanage in our community, St Jane’s de Chantal Home, back on its feet but quickly grew and has continued to grow into the most beautiful community. ELE sees itself as a channel for those who want to give back but don’t know how.”
In addition to giving back to the community, Jessica Anne has a team of talented clothing makers who contribute to the great feel and wearability of the clothes.
“The way each piece is made is carefully thought out. I love how fabric feels and I make sure I use breathable, comfortable fabric. I also design in a way that I think is flattering to a woman’s body. It’s important to feel good about yourself when you’re wearing something,” she beemed.
Not to mention that Mole runs an ethically sound ship of happy employees.
“The process of production is important to me. How much each person gets paid is carefully considered. Relationship is also really important to me and I try my best to make sure the people I work with are happy and satisfied with what they do.”
On 13 May Mole will be hosting a launch party at Wolves in Illovo and proceeds from the party will go towards helping ELE.
