Norwood police have arrested 20 suspects for committing various offences ranging from shoplifting to car hijacking.
The arrests were made between 27 May and 6 June in different spots within their area of service, said police spokesperson, Captain Elliot Tshivhase.
The arrests are as follows:
- 3 for shoplifting
- 2 for theft
- 2 for assault common
- 1 for assault with grievous bodily harm
- 1 for assault and kidnapping
- 1 for fraud
- 1 for intimidation
- 2 for possession of dagga
- 1 for possession of drugs
- 1 for possession of stolen goods
- 2 illegal imigrants
- 2 for car hijacking
- 1 for assault common in a domestic violence charge.
“All suspects appeared in court while others have paid bail. Police will continue arresting those caught on the wrong side of the law and investigations on those arrested are still continuing,” said Tshivhase.
