#ICYMI: Pair arrested for dealing in drugs in Johannesburg CBD

JOBURG – Two suspects arrested and expected to appear in Johannesburg Regional Court on charges of drug dealing.

The Johannesburg Flying Squad was in the thick of the action during a visible policing operation in the Johannesburg CBD.

According to the Johannesburg Central Cluster police spokesperson, Xoli Mbele, two men between the ages of 25 and 36 were arrested on charges of drug dealing.

Information relating to the type of substance(s) the pair were found with has not been revealed as yet.

“Police were busy with routine crime prevention duties when they spotted two suspicious males on the corner of Bree (Lilian Ngoyi) and Nugget streets at about 4pm on 11 July,” said Mbele.

“When the suspects saw the police, they tried to run away but were cornered. Police recovered drugs wrapped inside plastic bags from both suspects.

“A police investigation is underway, with both suspects expected to appear in Johannesburg Regional Court on 13 July.”
