Police arrest 31 suspects

NORWOOD – The arrests follows a week long work by the law enforcement agency.

 

Norwood police have arrested 31 suspects for committing various crimes in their precinct between 7 and 14 July.

Police spokesperson Elliot Tshivhase said the suspects were arrested for committing crimes ranging from shoplifting to possession of illegal substances.

The arrests are as follows;

  • 6 for shoplifting
  • 4 for common assault
  • 1 for theft
  • 1 for drunken driving
  • 1 for an outstanding warrant of arrest
  • 1 for robbery
  • 1 for possession of stolen goods
  • 1 for rape
  • 1 for defeating the ends of justice
  • 13 for trespassing
  • 1 for possession of dagga

“All the suspects appeared in court. Some of them paid bail while others still remain in police custody. The police will continue to arrest those caught on the wrong side of the law,’ said Tshivhase.
