Yeoville police are currently at Observatory Park investigating the death of a vagrant.
A spokesperson for the Yeoville police station Captain Sifiso Mabizela said that they were alerted by a witness who knew the deceased and are currently investigating the death.
The body has been covered from public view and the police forensics team is currently at the park to investigate if there was any foul play.
An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “I’ve seen this guy sleeping at the park. Ive seen him for the past 3 days. He was fine yesterday (10 August). I saw him sleeping, but he was on top of his jacket when it was cold and i saw he wasn’t breathing so I called the first police car that came past.”

He added that he noticed the deceased at approximately 6am.
Captain Mabizela added that the police are still investigating the scene and will give comment as soon as clear details are available.
