NOTICE: Beware of the road closures on 2 September for Jazz on the Lake event

PARKVIEW – Residents must take note of these road closures

While Joburg looks forward to celebrating spring at the upcoming Jazz on the Lake event on 2 September, Rosebank residents are advised to be aware of the road closures in the area.

While the event will begin at 11am and run until 5.30pm, the usual road closures will take place from 7am to 7 pm, according to Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck.

There will be closures along Oxford, Bolton and Chester roads in Emmarentia and Jan Smuts Avenue will be closed from Loch/ Sherbourne avenues in Parktown to Bolton/ Chester roads intersections in Rosebank.

The zoo and National Museum of Military History will be closed for the day.

If residents need a resident’s pass, they should contact their residents association. Truluck said, “Note that suburbs like Parkhurst, Parktown North, Rosebank, Emmarentia, Lower Houghton and Killarney will not be directly affected and so they do not need passes.”

Day passes can be collected from the kiosk at Moyo car park from 29 to 31 August between 8am and 4pm and from Rosebank Police Station on 1 and 2 September.

Residents will need proof of residence to obtain these.

Those wanting to attend the concert can catch buses from Marks Park and the Metro Centre in Braamfontein. The last buses will leave at 1pm. People can also catch a taxi to the drop-off point on the corner of Jan Smuts and Lower Park Drive or walk from the nearest road closure.
