SANDF to assist with #JoburgFire – report
JOBURG – Meanwhile, the MMC for Public Safety, Michael Sun, tweeted that the blaze had been extinguished this evening.

It is being reported tonight that the SA National Defence Force (SANDF) would assist with the fire that ripped through a government building in Joburg’s CBD.

TimesLive is reporting that the SANDF chief called on the chief of the SA Air Force to ensure fire-fighting trucks and a helicopter were made available in a bid to assist the Emergency Management Services in extinguishing the blaze.
This is not the first time that the defence force joined the operation. The Gauteng government tweeted earlier today:

Also this evening, the MMC for Public Safety, Michael Sun, tweeted that the blaze in the building had been extinguished. He also extended thanks to those who had worked on extinguishing the blaze. “Thank you to all the firefighters, Tshwane, Ekhululeni, West Rand, Sedibeng, OR Tambo Int, SAPS, SANDF and residents for supporting us during this tragedy,” said Sun.
