PICTURES: Joburg adds three contestants to the MTV Base VJ Search Top 10
JOBURG – MTV Base VJ Search ends up with three Joburg runners-up.
In the last round of auditions of the MTV Base VJ Search, Johannesburg proved to be a thrill, as hundreds of hopefuls served their best ‘Live Life in Colour’ personalities through dance, rap, and swag in their quest to be hailed the MTV Base VJ Search winner.
Celebrity judges Kelly Khumalo, Thomas Gumede, and Boity Thulo experienced a tumultuous wave of emotions as Gumede faced Scoop Makhathini through the auditions, Khumalo was left emotional over the loss of a friend in the call-backs and Boity was least impressed when a contestant asked her risqué questions.
Through it all, the judges were left enthralled by the City of Gold so much that they ended up with three runners-up from Joburg, Nomfundo Yekani, Jonatao Morais and Ntandose Mosibi – as they made up to nine contestants who have been picked throughout the auditions that took over Durban, East London, Cape Town and finally Joburg.
The top contestants are set to move into the Breezer House on the next episode of the MTV Base VJ Search on 26 September. Once in the house, the contestants will undergo various challenges.
