Capping off a great year with some furry friends

SANDRINGHAM – The Sandringham-based Second Innings Programme hosted a fun-filled end-of-year function.

The Second Innings Programme at Chevra Kadisha hosted a special end-of-year function in Sandringham on 2 December.

The function saw presentations from animal communicator and author of Paws and Listen to the Voices of the Animals, Jenny Shone and founder of NGO Rainbow Nation Animals, Helen Taylor.

The two organisations were brought together through raconteur Selyn Klaas and pianist Tony Bentel’s musical interpretation of Shone’s book which sought to raise money for Rainbow Nation Animals. The nine-year-old NGO attempts to educate and assist in helpful animal and pet ownership in rural areas through the distribution of food parcels and educational workshops. The functions also acted as a fundraiser for the organisation.

Klaas and Bentel shared their performance which had been performed around Johannesburg at the Second Innings Function. Shone also gave an in-depth presentation on animal telepathy and its inspiration on her book.

Coordinator of the Second Innings Programme Grecia Gabriel said, “I think it has been such a great year and I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work.”

The Second Innings members were able to end off with a wonderful tea while socialising with some of the animals brought to the functions by Rainbow Nation Animals and their partners.
