Asa and Mr Eazi to headline the Bassline Fest on Africa Day

JOBURG – Twelve of the continent’s freshest entertainers set to raise the bar at Bassline Fest.

Twelve of the continent’s freshest entertainers are set to raise the bar this year when the Bassline Fest returns to celebrate Africa Day on 25 May at Johannesburg’s Constitution Hill. The fest is spearheaded by the Department of Arts and Culture, in association with Radio 2000 and Trace Africa.

The Africa Day celebrations are an exhilarating musical experience aimed to showcase African music, culture and diversity. Under a 25-year celebratory theme, the Bassline Fest will not only celebrate Africa Day but also a milestone 25 years of democracy in South Africa, as well as the celebration of Bassline’s silver jubilee.

Bassline Fest forms part of the Johannesburg leg of the Igoda Festival Circuit. Festivals represented by the Igoda circuit include Azgo Festival – Mozambique, MTN Bushfire – Swaziland, Zakifo Festival – Durban, and Sakifo Festival – Reunion Island.

The circuit presents ease of opportunity for artists to travel the continent. International artists will often share the circuit and can be seen at several of the festivals over the same space of time, allowing fans from across the continent that exposure.

Nigeria’s Asá and Mr Eazi will headline this musical extravaganza, with early-bird tickets already on sale available via bassline.co.za priced at only R250. Thereafter, general access R350, Golden Circle R450 and children under 12 years old R150.
