WATCH: Global March for Elephants, Lions and Rhinos at Zoo Lake

ZOO LAKE – Protesters marched from Zoo Lake to the Jan Smuts entrance of the Johannesburg Zoo for the Global March for wildlife.

Community members from far and wide joined the Global March for Elephants, Rhino and Lions on 13 April.

According to Johannesburg representative from Beauty Without Cruelty Laureen Bertin, the event is for all animals in the wild that are mistreated, trafficked and used for their body parts.

The global march took place in Johannesburg on the same day as it took place in Durban. This also follows a successful protest in Cape Town last week.

A number of organisations supported the march including Beauty Without Cruelty SA, Ban Animal Trading, Rhinos in Africa and a number of other organisations.
