Wizo Johannesburg celebrates Yom Ha’atzmaut in style

HOUGHTON -– Yom Ha'atzmaut and Israel's 71 years of existence were marked in style at a Wizo Johannesburg event recently.

The Women’s International Zionist Organisation (Wizo) Johannesburg recently celebrated Yom Ha’atzmaut in spectacular fashion at the magnificent Munro Boutique Hotel overlooking the tree-lined streets of Houghton.

Marcia Parness welcomed everyone and thanked them for contributing to Wizo’s ‘Under Fire’ campaign for 24 Wizo facilities that were temporarily closed due to the recent rocket attacks in Israel.

The dynamic Harry Sideropoulos together with Momy Ezerzer brought the excitement and joy of celebrating 71 years of Israel, ‘our beloved country to life’. Raya Ravid, one of the organisers, said guests were privileged to have the deputy Ambassador designate, Hila Fridman, to bring them a message.

Guests tucked into amazing food generously provided by the Kosher Delis and caterers and was a delicious end to a perfect morning. Hatikvah sung in closing, from the heart.
