Join the walking tour of The Wilds on 9 June
HOUGHTON – The walk is open to the public and is free of charge.
The Lower Houghton Residents Association invites residents to join them for a guided tour of The Wilds on 9 June.
The walk will show locals the upgrades that have taken place at the hidden treasure of Joburg, which was unveiled as a heritage site earlier this year.
The 16-hectare park offers views of the City on the one side and the northern suburbs on the other.
Thanks to the revitalisation work of volunteer and Killarney resident James Delaney, the park, which was opened to the public in 1938, has recaptured its former glory.

The walk will begin at the Houghton Drive entrance at 9.15am. Parking is available below St John’s School. Walkers are encouraged to bring along a hat, sunscreen, sturdy shoes for walking uphill and a picnic to enjoy after the walk. Children are welcome and the event is free to the public.
