Constable Lishivha is committed to making arrests
PARKVIEW – Constable Lishivha said that the police are committed to giving the community the best service at all times.
Constable Lufuno Lishivha urges the community to believe in the ability of the Parkview police, who are committed to doing their best to keep the area safe.
Lishivha has served at the Parkview Police Station since 2008, attending to complaints and doing patrols outside of the station.
“The world is faced with many difficult things and I can play a role in putting criminals behind bars,” he said, explaining why he decided to join the police.
He described his work as challenging; however, assisting people helps him keep his mind active for anything that could happen.
“As a police officer, you have to have good time management and the ability to deal with different perspectives. You need to know your story.”
He referred to a successful arrest late last year in Craighall Park, where a criminal was arrested and sentenced to 10 years behind bars for house robbery. “A panic button was sounded and the security company contacted us. The criminal came into the house and robbed two adults. The police arrived in time when the public had chased the suspect down the street.”
He said that the most challenging cases he encounters are concerning domestic violence. “The victim must always be safe, but it’s a tough situation to manage.”
Lishivha said that the police are committed to giving the community the best service at all times. “We do our best to arrive on time and go on courses to learn how to handle difficult situations.”
A spokesperson for the Parkview Police Station Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said, “Constable Lishivha is one member who always secures arrests. He is committed and ensures that the community is safe at all times.”
