Get to know the admin clerk who helps Parkview Police Station to run smoothly
PARKVIEW – Mlungisi Mabaso works to capture dockets, dispatch complaints, circulate vehicles and send complaints to officers working outside the station.
Administration clerk at the Parkview Police Station Mlungisi Mabaso is committed to handling all the administrative tasks that allow complainants to receive case numbers before leaving the station.
Mabaso has worked at the station for 13 years. His work involves capturing dockets, dispatching complaints, capturing information regarding stolen vehicles so that they can be found and sending information to officers working their beats.
The spokesperson for the Parkview police Captain Tintswalo Sibeko said without Mabaso, police would not be able to do their jobs. “He dispatches complaints immediately and handles all the admin so that police working outside the station can do their jobs. He is even willing to go to other police stations if the system is offline.”
Mabaso said, “There are good people working at the Parkview Police Station who comply with instructions and work as a team. I ensure that the dockets are captured correctly so that complainants can leave the station with a case number.”
He added that it was challenging to do his job when the system was offline, however, he encouraged complainants to visit other stations where the system was online and dockets could be captured.
“Without the police, there would be a disaster in the community. We are here to prevent crime and arrest perpetrators of crime,” said Mabaso.
He encouraged community members to work with police to combat crime. “Without the community assisting us, we won’t know where the crimes are happening.”
