HILLBROW – The operation is aimed to look for criminal elements and if city bylaws are being contravened.
Metro police and Johannesburg Central Police are conducting a joint operation on ‘bad’ buildings in Hillbrow.
The spokesperson for the Metro police Wayne Minnaar said the aim of the operation was to root out criminal elements and to see if City by-laws were being contravened.
The operation also involved inspecting Vanin Court in Hillbrow which is in a dire state. It has been awarded a tender to be revitalised through the City of Joburg’s revitalisation programme.
