School adopts recycling project
MARYVALE – The children of Torah Academy Nursery School supports the legacy of Hugo Paluch.
Children from Torah Academy Nursery School in Maryvale continue to embrace the legacy of Yeshiva College learner Hugo Paluch who was tragically killed when a goalpost fell on him during a soccer match in 2017.
The young ones have adopted the project of recycling.
Known for his leadership qualities, the young Paluch’s initiative and drive were demonstrated a year before he passed away.
It was when he noticed recyclers in the northern-eastern suburbs of Johannesburg going through waste bins to find materials they could use.
He then started a project to improve their lives and which was continued after his death as a tribute to him by other schoolchildren.
“In supporting of his legacy, the children of Torah Academy Nursery School have adopted the project of recycling,” said Torah Academy communications officer Sue Belling.
The beneficiary for a project called Hugo’s Greenhood is Lindani Mnga who is now able to feed and educate his children through selling recycled items such as plastic, old metal, computers, and stationery.
