New spokesperson appointed in Norwood
NORWOOD – The newly appointed spokesperson for Norwood police station believes the fight for crime needs community and police to work together.
Sergeant Edzisani Eric Masotsha is the new spokesperson for Norwood Police Station.
He was appointed on 18 September and had already stepped in his office on 23 September. His appointment follows the retirement of Captain Elliot Tshivhase who served in the police sector for about 35 years.
Masotsha worked as a relief commander and at the client service centre under the Visible Policing (Vispol) unit and in the crime prevention unit.
Among the courses he had completed while at the South African Police Service’s academy included basic management, crime prevention, domestic violence, vulnerable children, advanced driving, road crash accidents, human rights in policing among others.
“All we need is to work together as a team in the fight against crime. It is not only about the police but the communities we serve as well,” he said.
“We need our community members, community policing forum members and other stakeholders like the business community and security companies to win this battle.”
Masotsha said he was very passionate when performing his duties and he was a man of the people who is always willing to go the extra mile to help people.
