Children’s development expects team up to teach mothers about best ways to helping their children grow faster
GLENHAZEL – Our aim at Budding Miracles is to empower parents with the right tools to help their babies to develop and grow stronger.
Budding Miracles is an organisation on a mission to teach mothers of children between the ages of three months and three years old the importance of their child’s development.
Based in Highlands North, Budding Miracles was established last year by two local community members, Linda Goldberg, who is a physiotherapist with 25 years’ experience and Nicole Cohen, an experienced social worker who teaches mothers what to do and expect from their children after giving birth.
“We run weekly development and stimulation workshops for moms with babies and toddlers,” said Cohen. “We specialise in creating fun learning experiences for babies from three months until three years of age. We identified the growing need to support mothers even earlier, and so we have now established monthly classes for babies from six weeks old.
“We have teamed up with Linda Goldberg, a physiotherapist with a masters in child development and advanced neurodevelopmental therapy and so Budding Miracles was born.
She added that their aim was to empower parents with the right tools to help their babies to develop and grow stronger. “This is a safe space to explore motor development, milestone promotion and how to identify possible motor difficulties. By demonstrating exercises and activities that help motor development, you will be your child’s best teacher.”
Cohen added that working with someone such as Goldberg who understood the physical development of a child, did not only help mothers understand how to position their babies in a manner that would help them develop physical strength faster but she also gives advice to parents if there are signs of physical challenges at an early stage.
