Eight injured after taxi hits a pole in Dunkeld

DUNKELD WEST – Netcare 911 said eight people reportedly sustained minor to moderate injuries. 


A mini-bus taxi crashed into a street light pole yesterday (17 February) in the early hours of the morning.

Shawn Herbst from the communications office of Netcare 911 said that the driver of the mini-bus taxi allegedly lost control of the vehicle which led to it crashing into a street light pole on Jan Smuts Avenue in Dunkeld West.

Herbst said that eight people were reported to have sustained minor to moderate injuries. “The patients were treated on the scene and, once stabilised, were transported by various ambulance services to hospital for further treatment.”
