Councillor Rugheimer makes a clarion call amid lockdown extension
LYNDHURST – Rugheimer pleads with all residents to keep to the rules of the lockdown.
Ward 81 councillor Irene Rugheimer has thanked the donors in her ward for heeding the call to donate food to the needy and urged people to continue doing so.
According to the councillor, there is a need for more donations due to the extension of the lockdown until the end of April which was announced recently by President Cyril Ramaphosa.
Rugheimer has asked all residents to keep to the rules of the lockdown.
She said the City of Johannesburg has been great in trying to reach as many residents in need as possible. “This is a mammoth task. I would like to thank residents to have made food donations that I have been able to distribute to the needy is well. Unfortunately with the extension of the lockdown, the need has become greater.”
Those able to donate food can contact Rugheimer directly. She also asked to contact her if they know of others in need.
