Killarney and surrounds: Water estimated to be back at 9pm

KILLARNEY – Various suburbs are out of water after a major pipe burst in Killarney.

A major pipe burst at Killarney Mall entrance has caused water outages in various suburbs. Ward 73 councillor Eleanor Huggett logged complaints following the water outages on 19 May.

Johannesburg Water posted on their Twitter page that their team was on-site and the estimated time of repair would be 9pm on the same day.

Ward 117 councillor Tim Truluck warned that it might take two hours to charge the pipes and the repair may take longer if they have further problems.

Affected areas are Rosebank; Dunkeld; Birdhaven; Parkwood; Killarney; Houghton; Saxonwold; Forest Town; Parkview; Melrose North; Riviera; Melrose.
