Three matric girls donate their hair to Cansa

PARKVIEW – Cansa receives human hair donations (ponytails) to make sufficient wigs for cancer survivors requesting them.

Three matric learners at Parktown High School for Girls recently donated their hair to The Cancer Association of South Africa (Cansa).

Learners Erin Helling, Izabella Sparrow and Calise Tierney were the donors.

These wigs are distributed as requested by Cansa Care Centres across the country and given to survivors who need them most.

Cansa welcomes all types of hair donations, though it is preferred to be a ponytail of 25cm or longer. Shorter hair is also accepted as it can be used as filler hair.
