A look at our historical past
VICTORY PARK – Learners of King David Victory Park spent one morning learning about the significance of Human Rights Day.
Learners of King David Victory Park spent their morning assembly recently, reflecting on the importance of March 21, a national public holiday in our country.
On this is significant morning, the school expressed how honoured and privileged they were to have Lwando Xaso – a lawyer, writer, and speaker – address the school at their special Human Rights Day assembly. Adding to her list of titles, Xaso is also said to be a conscious promoter of constitutionalism and is an aspiring historian.
In her address, she delivered what many felt was a poignant and engaging talk on the importance of remembering the significance of the day, the South African struggle, our history and the importance of our constitution. She also encouraged everyone to embody and strive for the principles and ideals of the South African Constitution.
“It was an inspirational and heart-warming assembly filled with energy and honesty,” said Nirvana Rogers, the school’s marketer.
