Honouring public speakers

VICTORY PARK – TV personality, Leanne Manas hands over two public speaking award trophies to De La Salle Holy Cross College.

Being a talented speaker is a gift that allows you to influence. If you can influence, then you can change the world.”

These were the words shared by well-known TV presenter Leanne Manas to the De La Salle Holy Cross College community as she handed over two special public speaking award trophies. These trophies are said to have been inspired by St. Gabriel, the archangel and patron saint of communication.

The school’s marketing liaison, Polite Zhoya, said public speaking is an exceptionally important skill in the school curriculum as it helps children with improved communication, increased self-esteem and confidence, planning, critical thinking as well as networking. “It also allows children to form connections, influence decisions, and motivate change.”
