“Both Medi Response and Fire Operations SA were activated from our bases. Our medical and fire response time was under 10 minutes from activation to arriving on scene,” said Behrmann.

Behrmann said there were no fatalities on the scene but extensive damage was noted due to the extent of the blaze.

“The source of the fire is not known at this stage. South African Police Service were called out to the scene as the homeowner believes there was foul play at hand. Well done to all teams who acted timeously to help combat the fire.”
