SPAR Grand Prix announces actress and wellness advocate as their ambassador.

Lyndhurst resident and actress seals her position in wellness as ambassador.

An actress, wellness advocate and Lyndhurst resident was named the 2022 SPAR Grand Prix Ambassador on May 26.

The well-seasoned actress Thandy Matlaila was announced as the brand ambassador for SPAR under their theme #IRise.

“SPAR is well known for the promotion and development of women in sports, especially in grassroot areas,” said SPAR Lowveld marketing director Sean Komlosy. “This event will produce a solid foundation.” As the face of the brand, Matlaila will appear at multiple events which will run throughout the country.

The announcement could not have come at a much better time as the actress is consciously partnering with brands that are actively part of the drive to ensure South Africans are making healthy decisions and taking ownership of their wellness.

The partnership is an organic fit for Matlaila who is well invested in the participation of women in sports.

With every episode of her Instagram show #WellnessOnWednesdays, Matlaila unpacks the layers of wellness and invites fellow industry mates and friends to share their own stories and how they overcame their own personal struggles.

“My brand is all about holistic wellness and the SPAR Grand Prix plays a huge role in that. Not only is it about the physical race but there is so much more behind the brand, advocating for women’s rights,” said the actress.

Matlaila has embarked on bringing wellness experiences to the people through #ThandyMWellness days. The first of many of these events was held over the previous weekend where she hosted a ‘hot yoga’ experience at the Wanderers Stadium.
