Two detained for malicious damage and trespassing

Two suspects on charges of malicious damage and trespassing were arrested in Orchards by the Norwood Police.

Two suspects were detained by the Norwood police for malicious damage and trespassing.

Spokesperson Warrant Officer Eric Masotsha reported that on October 29 at about 01:00 police were called for the formal arrest of two suspects found in the Orchards area.
He said it was reported that the complainant was asleep when she heard footsteps outside and then the property’s beam alarm went off. Private security members were called and on their arrival, two suspects were found stranded inside the property owner’s yard.

“On the arrival of the police, during a thorough inspection, it was observed that the electric fence was cut off. That is possibly how suspects gained access. During the arrests, both suspects each had a cut on their lower body sustained from the electric fence. Both suspects were taken to hospital for medical treatment under police guard.”

He said the suspects would soon be discharged and appear in court.
