Guild Cottage thanks friends and donors for continuous support

Guild Cottage Home started in 1907 as a home for orphaned children and it evolved into specialising as a residential treatment centre for girls.

Using international best practises, Guild Cottage Home now leads the way in developing remedial programmes that are giving abused children a second chance for full rehabilitation and recovery. Guild Cottage Home is ‘a home away from home’ providing a safe and caring environment, with opportunities for individualised therapy and attending school up to the matric level. We were proud this year that the City of Johannesburg had recognised the Guild Cottage Home as a heritage site. We are grateful to the heritage foundation for making sure that we are not left behind.

We could not have achieved this vision if the Guild Loyal Women was not adopted by the United Presbyterian Church of South Africa as their Home. Through the active support from St Columba’s Presbyterian Church, Deutsche Internationale Schule, Standard Bank SA, Mad Swimmers, Rotary Club, Indaba Hotel, Robson- Savage Company, Justice Edwin Cameroon and friends, and all our loyal trusts, it would not have been easy to be where we are with our goals of quality childcare. The schools that we work in have made sure that our girls integrate well with their peers and always feel supported.

Guild Cottage’s Wishlist includes:

  • Electricity-Possible partnership to purchase the solar panel system.
  • Non-perishable food-Any food items
  • Toiletries- Toilet paper and care packs
  • School- School bags, uniform, shoes, printer and laptops.
  • Linen-Sheets, towels, duvet covers and inners
