Joburg Super Kings played friendly practise match against Namibia at the Wanderers Stadium

Joburg Super Kings will play their first match of the 2024 SA20 against Sunrisers Eastern Cape on January 10.

Joburg Super Kings played a friendly practise match against Namibia at Wanderers Stadium on January 5 and 7.

According to the media release by the Joburg Super Kings, batting first, Joburg Super Kings posted 212 for 6 in 20 overs.

“Namibia was 10 for 1 in 2.4 overs when the game was called off due to rain. Donovan Ferreira top scored with 66 off 28 while Reeza Hendricks (42 off 28), François ‘Faf’ du Plessis (26 off 20), Leus du Plooy (25 off 11), and Dayyaan Galiem (25 off 18) made handy contributions.”

Zahir Khan and Leus du Plooy starred in a second practise game against Namibia on January 7.

Khan picked up three wickets while du Plooy made a 27-ball 52 in Joburg Super Kings’ second friendly practise game against Namibia.

Namibia posted a total of 156/6 in their 20 overs. Jan Nicol Loftie-Eaton top scored with a quickfire 17-ball 31, while Jean du Plessis scored 30.

“Zahir Khan was outstanding for the Joburg Super Kings, picking up 3 for 19 in 4 overs. In reply, the Super Kings went past the finish line with 23 balls to spare.”

Du Plooy top scored with 52, while Ronan Herrmann scored 33.
