Greenside High School and Parktown High School for Girls shine with 100% pass rates.
According to the Gauteng Department of Education, the province obtained a 85.4% pass rate.
Parktown High School for Girls’ Grade 12 academic head, Helen-Mary Halley said she the school was ecstatic with the 100% pass rate.
“We obtained a 95% Bachelor pass which is what we are mostly proudly of. It comes from hard work from the teachers an matriculants. We always say hard work starts from Grade 8 until Grade 12, some of our learners come from diverse and tough backgrounds and we work hard as a school to bring them on the same page academically for them to do their best.”
A top achiever from Parktown, Sienna Whines obtained 8 distinctions said her plans include studying at Wits.
“I am planning to study microbiology and the advice I would give 2024 matriculants is that they must balance their academics with their personal lives.”
Greenside High School’s Grade 12 academic head, Raakee Jeebodh noted said she was beside herself with the school’s results, “We are thrilled with the results they obtained. I want to wish our matriculants well for their future.”
A top achiever at Greenside, Taskeen Wadee excitedly confirmed that she was accepted at Wits for medicine.
“I obtained 6 distinctions which I am excited about. My advice to the class of 2024 is to work consistently and believe in yourself.”
