Old Parks ladies gear up for coming season

After winning the Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) Ladies’ Division One Championship, Old Parks Ladies will now compete in the premier league.

Following their successful Rand Central Local Football Association (RCLFA) Ladies Division One Championship season, the Old Parks ladies are back in training, getting ready for much tougher battles in the 2024 season.

They have begun their preparations for the new season and are looking to beef up their squad. The ladies finished top of the log last season with 34 points.

The club will now have two ladies’ teams – one will compete in Division 1 and the other will be the first team playing in the Premier League.

The ladies are putting in the hard work and will not let anything distract them in preparations for the new season.

Old Parks’ coach Colin Fritz explained that because they just had started the pre-season he is focusing mostly on the players’ attitude and techniques they can work on.

“I’ve identified a couple of things to work on already. This season we will play in the Premier League and we are not going there to add numbers. We worked really hard last season and we are going to continue with that and make a name for ourselves. For Division 1, we will just be there to identify ourselves as we will be a new team.”

He added that he is happy with the players’ attitude so far and they will be setting up preseason games before the league starts.

“We will be entering the 6-a-side leagues to work on our fitness and we will play games with clubs in the area and some high schools as well.”
