Locals kickstarted their Sunday morning at the Zoo Trot

The Joburg Zoo Trot consists of the 5km and 10km walk or run. Gates open at 06:30, registration is at 07:00, and the race begins at 07:30.

Different age groups took advantage of a gloomy Sunday 5km and 10km run and walk at the Johannesburg Zoo Trot on February 11.

According to the executive manager of the zoo, Louise Gordon, the trot is a monthly event with a 5km or 10km walk and run. Visitors enjoyed the promotion of a healthy lifestyle while taking in the animals in the zoo’s care.

“This event is intended to encourage people to visit the zoo for their health as well as to see and interact with the animals.”

Also this year, the zoo will be turning 120 years old. In the spirit of their birthday, entrance fee will drop to R20 a person between March 1 to 29. But, if you are a March-baby, entrance is free.
