• Melrose, Norwood, Dunkeld, and Parktown North

According to Jobrug Water, a team had been dispatched to investigate the cause of this widespread issue. Residents are advised to remain patient as the team works to restore water supply as quickly as possible.
Spokesperson Nombuso Shabalala confirmed that a 750 mm water pipe burst at 1 Second Avenue and West Street in Houghton Estate. “This resulted in the Parktown 1 and 2 Reservoirs being isolated to drain the network and conduct repairs. Residents experienced low pressure to no water, especially in high-lying areas,” she explained.
While the pipe was repaired yesterday, some areas are still experiencing poor pressure or no water. Joburg Water teams are currently on-site investigating the ongoing issues to ensure full restoration of supply.
Residents are advised to conserve water and stay updated through Joburg Water’s official channels.
For updates, residents are encouraged to monitor Joburg Water’s official communication channels or contact their regional office for more information.
If you are in one of the affected areas, conserve any available water, and consider making alternative arrangements if necessary.
