Emergency water shutdown alert for Houghton Estate and surrounding areas

Residents advised to prepare for temporary water disruption as essential maintenance work begins.

Residents in Houghton Estate and surrounding areas are advised of an emergency water shutdown due to maintenance work being carried out by Johannesburg Water. The disruption is necessary for the replacement of a valve at the intersection of 4th and Riviera Road.

The affected areas include:

Houghton, Orange Groove, Abbotsford, Killarney, Saxonwold, Parkwood, Rosebank, Dunkeld, Parktown North, Birdhaven, Athol Oaklands, Parkview, Forest Town, Hyde Park, Dunkeld West, Riviera, Illovo, and Parkhurst.

The expected time of restoration is set for 15:30. Johannesburg Water apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciates the community’s understanding as they carry out this essential work to improve the local water supply.
