Parktown Boys closes 2025 with pride, spirit, and remarkable achievements
From gold medals to sporting triumphs, from learner leadership to academic excellence, Parktown Boys’ High School ends 2025 on a high note.
Parktown Boys’ High School concluded 2025 with pride and a revitalised spirit.
Headmaster Kevin Stippel reflected on a year marked by staff commitment and learner ownership. “What we’ve seen is the power of consistency. Our boys took ownership, and together we created a culture where hard work fuels success.”
The school’s cultural life thrived, highlighted by strong participation in activities from chess to traditional dance. The school band excelled at the National Schools’ Band Competition, winning two gold medals and a silver.

The major production, Noises Off, was a hit, and the Parktown Podcast celebrated the creativity within the school. “Our boys are not just performing, they’re leading and innovating.”
Academics remained a key focus, with the 2024 matric results showing significant improvement, highlighted by Kai Lamond’s ten distinctions. Confidence is strong for the 2025 cohort, thanks to a shift to spring school, which offers targeted support before exams. “We want every boy to feel seen and supported.”
Sporting achievements were equally impressive. The school had more teams than ever, fostering pride and confidence. The 1st XV rugby side won against prominent Johannesburg schools, while hockey, soccer, and other sports saw numerous victories and representation at provincial and national levels.
Off the field, the school’s spirit, led by the band and waka men, was noted as a unique strength that other schools envied.

Learner leadership has strengthened, with students actively engaging in assemblies, clubs, and service projects, like Heart of the Lion and The Lion’s Den, which include improving the campus and cultivating a sustainable vegetable garden.
The school’s ethos of pride, respect, and good manners has been evident, with compliments received about the boys’ characters and uniform wear.
As 2025 concludes, Parktown Boys emphasises that it is the shared sense of purpose and community that defines the school.
With this strong foundation, the school confidently embraces 2026, proud of its spirit and achievements.
