The Bunny Hop Haven is Creating Plans for 2026 animal welfare and education

The Observatory animal sanctuary celebrates a year of rescued animals, loving adoptions, and growing community support, while looking ahead to an even brighter 2026 filled with hope, compassion, and furry friends.

The Bunny Hop Haven takes a moment to reflect on a year of growth, compassion, and community spirit.

What started as a sanctuary for rabbits has blossomed into a thriving home for a remarkable variety of rescued animals, including guinea pigs, chickens, ducks, goats, sheep, pigs, peacocks, tortoises, and even turkeys.

Each animal carries its own story, and together they remind everyone involved why kindness and care matter so profoundly.

The haven’s mission has remained steadfast: to provide a safe, nurturing environment for animals in need while fostering empathy and responsible care within the wider community.

The team extends heartfelt thanks to every volunteer, donor, foster family, and supporter who made 2025 such a memorable year.

Highlights from the year included the expansion of rescue facilities thanks to generous donations, offering animals improved space and enrichment. More than 40 rabbits and other rescued animals found loving homes through a strengthened adoption programme, supported by the dedication of foster families.

Local schools and preschools were welcomed to the haven, teaching children about animal welfare, empathy, and responsible pet guardianship.

Community partnerships grew stronger as local businesses and supporters provided essential supplies and helped spread awareness of the haven’s work. The volunteer team also expanded, bringing fresh energy to daily tasks, from feeding and cleaning to socialising with the animals.

Looking ahead, The Bunny Hop Haven is optimistic about what 2026 will bring. Plans include weekly food support from supermarkets and vegetable shops, sponsored sterilisations to manage long-term health and population, upgrades to enclosures, and monthly sponsorships to cover feed, veterinary care, and maintenance.

The haven will also launch its Hop for Hope fundraiser and establish a community vegetable garden where visitors can grow produce for the animals while learning and contributing alongside staff and volunteers.

The Bunny Hop Haven looks forward to welcoming more families and animal lovers in the new year as it continues to grow as a sanctuary rooted in kindness, compassion, and the shared joy of caring for all creatures, great and small.
