Norwood SAPS officers pounced on a man who had drugs.

While Norwood SAPS were conducting crime prevention rounds during a pre-Shanela operation on March 5, Warrant Officer Eric Masotsha and Sergeant Alugumi Tshikororo cornered the man and searched him, and he was found with drugs at the corner of Louis Botha Avenue and 7th Street in Orange Grove.

“The suspect had his rights read out and explained to him, and was transported to Norwood SAPS cells for formal detention. Drugs found in his possession were booked in our SAPS 13 register and would be used as evidence before the court.”

Masotsha noted the suspect would appear in court in due course for a bail application.

Members of the public are urged to bring forward information about criminal activities so that the perpetrators can be brought to book.
