Sanctuary Mandela celebrated artists and fashion designer

Sanctuary Mandela includes elements of the home Madiba lived in after he returned from Robben Island.

To kickstart Heritage Month, Sanctuary Mandela on August 30 hosted an evening to celebrate art, fashion and the world of wine.

During this vibrant heritage month, Sanctuary Mandela takes centre stage in celebrating the profound creative essence of Mandela.

Pen artitist, Zwelakhe Ngobese’s journey exemplifies the transformative power of creativity.

“I am a self-taught artist, I specilise mostly in BIC pen. The intention of my artwork is to capture the African culture because we are living in modern times where things are quickly evolving.”

Ngobese added that he uses his artwork to communicate with people on a spiritual level so that when one person looks at his artwork he/she can understand the meaning of the painting.

The pen artist tries to emphasise a lot of aspects on his artwork so that they appear life-like.

Mapholo Ratau showcased her clothes through a fashion line called Ledikana Creations, a 100% women-owned fashion and accessories brand that shines as a vibrant testament to empowerment.

“Founded in 2014, Ledikana Creations seamlessly blends contemporary design with the rich tapestry of African culture,” said Ratau.
