Swinging for smiles in Killarney: a day of golf to raise funds for the Smile Foundation
The Killarney Country Club buzzed with energy as golfers and business leaders gathered for a charity golf day, blending sport with a heartfelt mission to uplift the lives of children in need.
On October 9, the Killarney Country Club transformed into a vibrant hub of generosity and camaraderie as Smart Business Systems, in partnership with Steel Corp SA, hosted its second annual charity golf day. The event brought together golf enthusiasts, business leaders, and community supporters to raise funds for the Smile Foundation, which aims to make a lasting impact on the lives of children in need.
The day was filled with excitement as participants enjoyed a comprehensive four-ball package, including green fees, custom golf shirts, golf carts, a delicious halfway house meal, and a lavish buffet dinner culminating in a prize-giving ceremony. The motivation behind the event was clear. Terance Alexander from Smart Business Systems shared, “We wanted to give back to the community and bring together like-minded individuals to collaborate and share ideas. Our main goal this year is to raise R100 000, a significant leap from the R30 000 raised last year.”
Joshua Abrahams from Solar Systems echoed this sentiment, saying, “We got involved in the golf day to support the community and help the Smile Foundation make a difference in the lives of children.”
Radley Davies, another participant, added, “Every business should give back to the community. It’s our responsibility to help those in need.”
The day concluded with a successful fundraising effort and a strengthened community spirit, showcasing the power of collaboration in driving positive change. With the dedication of sponsors, participants, and organisers, the second Annual Charity Golf Day achieved its goal of raising funds for a brighter future, leaving participants inspired and eager for next year’s event.
