Delay continues for reinstatement at corner of Buckingham and Grosvenor

JRA will furnish JW with a quotation of the damaged storm water drain on Buckingham and Grosvenor avenues in order to facilitate the repairs.

Two-years later, the reinstatement at the corner of Buckingham and Grosvenor avenues in Craighall Park continues to stall.

On July 2, Johannesburg Roads Agency (JRA)’s Head of Regional Operations Khaya Gqibitole explained that the damage to the storm water system was a result of infrastructure maintenance activities by Johannesburg Water (JW).

“JRA will conduct an assessment of the damages and furnish JW with a quotation for the repairs, once the quotation is approved JRA will conduct the repairs.”

In 2023, the Gazette reported a deep hole with an exposed metal pipe, posing a danger, not only to motorists who had to avoid the hole by driving into oncoming traffic, but also to pedestrians.
